Alice in Wonderland is a classic story that invites fun and imagination. It’s about being different and being yourself, no matter what that means. So why not incorporate that same idea into your child’s room? Here’s what you need to create that one-of-a-kind room for your one-of-a-kind child.

Start with the Walls

Add images, illustrations, paintings, or murals to the walls. This is a great way to create an instant theme. Use an image from the cartoon or create your own. Don’t feel as though you have to stay inside the box. Isn’t Alice in Wonderland all about the unique? So keep that in mind and use that as inspiration as you decorate, paint, and cover the walls.

Add Quirky Bedding

The key to finding the right bedding for an Alice in Wonderland bedroom is to avoid the ordinary and look for the abnormal. It’s about being quirky, so this might be a fun option to have your child choose with you.

Install Large Doorknobs

Nothing is more Alice in Wonderland than large doorknobs with cartoony faces. Not only will these doorknobs make the appropriate statement, but your child will be enthralled with them. Just make sure the doorknobs aren’t disturbing to your child first.

Experiment with Scale of Objects

Remember when Alice shrunk and grew? Play on that idea. Include enlarged, colorful mushrooms and tiny doors along the baseboard. Mix it up and inspire your child’s imagination.

Mix Patterns

Mix patterns that you’d never mix anywhere else in the house. The crazier it gets, the better it will be for your child’s themed room. Don’t be afraid to mix a checkered print with bold stripes. Go bold.

What’s your favorite part of Alice in Wonderland? And how can you incorporate that into your child’s room?
